Distinct Advantages

Modeled after the most modern American healthcare system, and benefiting from strategic location, ready access, state-of-the-art organization and administration, and information and e-health technologies, IMI-vt was established with a number of unique, strategic advantages in mind.

Site

Located at the doorsteps of Ho Chi Minh City and the gateway of the largest seaport of Vietnam, the site for the IMI-vt facility benefits from many distinct advantages.

The IMI-vt site is within a 4-kilometer radius to downtown Vung Tau, other tourist areas in the province, Vung Tau airport, the oil & gas port to the west, and Cua Lap Resort.  Vung Tau is easily accessible from the town of Ba Ria and Dong Nai Province via Highway 51C.  Shielded from the sea by natural sand dunes covered with vegetation, the site has with clean air and infrastructure such as telecommunications, water, power, road access, and river and sea port access.

The two-thousand square-kilometer Province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau is situated on the South China Sea, and is the gateway to the Pacific Ocean for much of southern Vietnam. It is located northeast of the Mekong Delta, and is 120 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. The province is developing an industrial corridor along Highway 51 with good sea, river and ground transport, and industries with high health-hazards, such as petro-chemicals, fertilizer, and heavy industries having no adequate healthcare services.  The province is undergoing rapid development as a sea port and in the areas of transportation, marine product processing and exploitation, and tourism.  Its neighbors are Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces, both of high-growth industrial development, fast-growing populations and increasing prosperity with the need for improved healthcare services.

Statistics

Ba Ria--Vung Tau is the heart of the oil & gas exploration and production industry in Vietnam and has the largest population of foreign workers and professionals in Vietnam, is the most important recreation and resort area in Vietnam, a prime target for tourist and overseas Vietnamese returnees, currently expanding communication and transportation links with nearby Ho Chi Minh City.  The province has progressive leadership with the highest national budget contribution and a high governmental budget allocation from the Central Government.

Leading Vietnamese hospitals have recently shown that over 15 percent of the population suffers from cardio-vascular diseases, an increase of 6-8 percent from just ten years ago, and nearly 10 percent of the population may require oncology services.
