Tele-Radiology with IMI
IMI Corp will rapidly have the capability to market Tele-Radiology, the communication and display of images and results in medical networks, from acquisition and distribution to display and reporting (Figure 1),

in client-server scenarios (Figure 2),

by installation of the SaigonTech/IMI developed imiPACS and either custom or third-party diagnostic imaging software into a local public or private hospital or clinic, while connecting to IMI Partners in Houston (Figure 3).

Teleradiology Objectives
SaigonTech's primary objective is to develop its own workforce (its IT department), towards developing Vietnam 's workforce (through education of SaigonTech students).
IMI's primary objective is to market Tele-Radiology as the first of two telemedicine solutions (the other being Vital Sign Monitoring), solutions for physicians, healthcare enterprise managers, system engineers, and medical information, telemedicine, radiology, and medical documentation systems designers, and electronic patient records designers.
IMI Teleradiology Solutions
Following our case study involving Houston Medical Imaging Center (Houston, TX, USA), but on a smaller scale (handling only 20 patients a day), IMI will develop our “Quang Trung Medical Imaging Center,” offering Tele-Archiving and boasting a modular system structure which can be expanded over our network. The Medical Imaging Center will contain the SaigonTech-designed, IMI-administered image database, a custom imiPACS server and file transfer by broadband Internet (with or without VPN) or WAN to domestic clients and worldwide radiology practices. Specialists will have the ability to enter reports through our Web-browser-based PACS.
Together, IMI and SaigonTech help support the digitalization of the currently 98% of X-rays machines that are analog in Vietnam at Vietnamese hospitals, through either scanning of X-ray films or frame-grabbing technology, and conversion to PACS-capable file formats. Through strategic partnerships and utilization of DICOM and HL7 standards, we will provide workstation integration between our PACS and third-party diagnostic-imaging applications.
Later, IMI will provide on-site radiologists at the Medical Imaging Center , providing international-standard reporting and diagnosis here in Vietnam . (Figure 4).
